Based on telephone conversations, Nastaran creates a visual solo performance full of duets, dialogues, poems and songs. With the voices of the two children in the ancient Persian language, Songs for no one is a portrait of a hidden society that shows what usually remains invisible.

Songs for no one  won the BNG Bank Theaterprijs 2020 and 2021 and was selected by the Flemish Theatre Festival 2022 as one of ‘the most interesting, socially relevant and innovative productions' of the last season’.

"It is a top achievement by Nastaran Razawi Khorasani that she has made such a charming production with a hard-hitting subject."
Theaterkrant - Critic’s choice

"How can I literally and figuratively share my stage with people who don't have access to it?" says Nastaran "That question is my underlying drive for this project. I am aware of my privileges and feel more responsible than ever to speak out for those who cannot. As a refugee, I left my childhood behind in Iran. In I live in freedom in the Netherlands, but I strongly identify with the youngest generation of children in Iran now. I want to make their voices, which otherwise go unheard, heard."

What does it mean to have to live under a dictatorship? What ideas and hopes keeps the younger generation going?

Songs for no one  is about the fragility of freedom, the lack of freedom in everyday life and dreams about freedom in the future.
