Simon Beeckaert studied double bass at the Antwerp Conservatory and is currently active as a musician and composer, including with the jazz quartet The Groovecats Deluxe. He previously played with Tamino, Echo Beatty, Teletext and Franky fame, among others. Beeckaert also composed music for De Zonnekoning (The Sun King) - Samuel Baidoo's dance solo, the dance performance Wijtwee/Nosostrosdos, the documentary logique abdi (Bruno Rino Nesin) and the audio documentary De Kroonlaan (The Crown Avenue).

Since July 2022 Beeckaert can be seen in ONE SONG - Histoire(s) du Théâtre IV, a performance by Miet Warlop & NTGent that will premiere at Festival d'Avignon.
